Tony Sarg:
Puppeteer in America, 1915 - 1942

By Tamara Hunt

Considered the father of modern puppetry in North America, Tony Sarg was a well know illustrator and designer as well as puppeteer.
For many years his troupes crisscrossed the continent with elaborate marionette productions. His high standards and willingness to share
the backstage 'secrets' were revolutionary and many of his employees went on to form their own professional companies. Appendixes
cover Sarg's schedule of known performances, detail his many productions, list known published photographs, and sample his promotional
materials. Extensive bibliography and more than fifty photographs.
